CONAFOR Cabin
Project created for CONAFOR cabin design competition in 2006. The theme was to create a temporary home for people living in rural areas affected by natural disasters such as earth quakes or floods, the brief required the cabin to be built only in pine wood, it had to be solved in modulated pieces or parts, it needed to be easy to transport, include basic sanitary services and have a small shed for animals. A computer model of this design was tested and proven for stability and load performance. The cabin has many features to enhance ventilation and terrain adaptation. Inside the cabin a family can live safe and happy and with some adjustments it can be transformed into a permanent home. Complete identical modules can add up to create a bigger space.
